Jalen Hurts' season ended with blood clots in his lungs last month, and the Philadelphia Eagles have lost six games in a row, the last three with Tanner McKee at quarterback. The New York Giants arrive off a bye at 4-2-1, with J.J. McCarthy settled in after a September trade from Minnesota following Jaxson Dart's season-ending injury. Lincoln Financial Field hosts this NFC East matchup, and the NFL picks Week 9 numbers point in one clear direction.
Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants Best Bet
New York Giants -3.5: -102
My best bet is New York to win by more than a field goal. Philadelphia's offence ranks 30th in the league at 17.1 ppg, and Tanner McKee is 0-3 as the starter since Hurts went down. New York's offence ranks 13th at 23.3 ppg, and its defence ranks 15th at 23.0 ppg allowed, while Philadelphia's own defence sits 21st at 25.3 ppg allowed. Philadelphia has scored 21 points or fewer in every one of its last five games, and I don't see that changing no matter who the defense is since they simply cannot score points.

Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants Analysis
The Philadelphia side
Philadelphia is just 1-3 at Lincoln Financial Field this season, cracking 20 points at home only against Washington in Week 1 and Dallas in a 38-21 loss in Week 7. The Eagles' two wins have come against that same Washington team, which beat them badly last week, and a Tennessee team now 1-7. McKee has lost each of his three starts since taking over, most recently a 27-10 loss at Washington last Sunday, and facing the top team in the NFC East that is coming off a bye will be a tall task,
The New York side
McCarthy has started the last couple of games and New York heads into this game off a bye following a 27-21 overtime win over Houston in its last outing. The Giants' four wins have come against Dallas, Tennessee, Arizona and Houston, teams with a combined 9-22 record, so this is a team that has mostly beaten what was in front of it rather than anyone legit. Still, the Giants are the better-rested side coming into Sunday, and I like the matchup against an injury-riddled Philadelphia offence that is playing a backup QB.
Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants Prediction
New York's -175 price on Bet365 implies a de-vigged win probability of 61% to Philadelphia's 39%, but I have this closer to 64%-36% in the Giants' favour. The gap between these two offences is bigger than a 3.5-point line usually reflects, and Philadelphia's defence hasn't been stout enough all season to turn a bad matchup into a close one. Philly is reeling and has lost six in a row and look for seven come Sunday.

My Exact Score Prediction: New York Giants 27 Philadelphia Eagles 20
I'm backing New York to win even on the road. Philadelphia hasn't beaten a single team with a winning record all season, and New York has scored exactly 27 points in three straight games. A 47-point combined total clears the posted 40-point line, and a 7-point margin covers the Giants' 3.5-point spread comfortably.
