Chelsea vs Liverpool Odds

Liverpool heads into this encounter with +125 odds at soccer betting sportsbooks. The Blues return at +190. A draw is priced at +260.

Dating back to 2021, this clash has been all Liverpool. They’ve only tasted defeat once to Chelsea during that span. The Reds have also won three in a row against the Blues across all competitions.

Chelsea vs Liverpool Analysis

The Blues were seen as a dark horse contender for the Premier League title before the campaign begun, but they’ve already started to fall out of that conversation. The Club World Cup champions aren’t playing consistent football, sitting in eighth place in the table with a 2-2-2 record. Enzo Maresca’s men have lost three of their last five matches across all competitions, and the red card has been a major issue in three of those games. It once again reared it’s ugly head on Tuesday against Benfica, but luckily, it was late enough to not hurt the Premier League side.

An own goal in the 18th minute from Richard Rios was enough to help Chelsea earn their first points of the Champions League campaign, spoiling Jose Mourinho’s return to Stamford Bridge. As for Premier League matchday six, it was a 3-1 defeat to the Seagulls. Enzo Fernandez opened the scoring in the first half, but Trevoh Chalobah’s red card in the 53rd minute hurt the Blues immensely. Brighton proceeded to score three times after he was sent off, with Danny Welbeck bagging the winner in injury time. While Chelsea need a positive result very badly here, taking down Liverpool is a massive task.

The Reds have looked essentially unstoppable for most of the season so far, despite a few defensive errors at times. But, that all changed when they went to Selhurst Park last weekend, with a gritty Palace side pulling off the upset. Eddie Nketiah played hero for the Eagles, coming on as a late substitute and scoring at the death. Liverpool’s usually lethal frontline struggled to put away their opportunities, registering 20 shots, with just four finding the target.

The lack of finishing in front of goal carried into Tuesday’s affair with Galatasaray, with Victor Osimhen’s 16th minute spot kick propelling the Turkish giants to victory. Once again, the Merseysiders were invisible in the final third, despite controlling 67% of the ball. Although Arne Slot’s side are in a bit of a rut, they’re still two points clear of Arsenal at the top of the EPL table. Their recent track record against Chelsea is definitely a reason for optimism on Saturday, too.

Chelsea vs Liverpool Injury News

Chalobah’s red card vs Brighton will result in him sitting out this clash. Cole Palmer, Liam Delap, and Levi Colwill are some other notable absences for Chelsea. Liverpool meanwhile will be without No. 1 keeper Allison Becker, who suffered an injury in the Champions League. Hugo Ekitike is also battling an injury, but he could still suit up at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea vs Liverpool Picks

Chelsea’s attack has looked poor and without Palmer, they do lack that same creativity. Moreso however, I’m looking at Liverpool’s success against their Premier League rivals, and it’s hard to ignore. I simply do not see the champions losing another. They will walk away from London with three points.
