Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich Odds

There’s no clear favorite for the first leg at soccer betting sportsbooks. Bayern sits at +121 odds, while Real returns at +195 on the moneyline. A draw is priced at +300. The O/U, meanwhile, sits at 3.5 goals.

28 meetings between these two have seen Madrid win 13, while Bayern have 11 victories. The other four fixtures ended level. Their most recent meeting came in the 2023-24 semifinals, with Los Blancos moving on to ultimately win it all after beating the German giants 4-3 on aggregate.

Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich Analysis

It’s only fitting that Madrid is one of the eight teams left standing in Europe’s most prized competition. After all, they’ve won it a record 15 times. While Los Blancos are always a threat to lift the grand prize in the Champions League, this hasn’t been their most consistent campaign. In LaLiga, Barcelona basically has one hand on the title after going seven points clear this past weekend following Madrid’s shocking 2-1 defeat to Mallorca.

Alvaro Arbeloa’s side has lost two of their last five league matches, and while the title isn’t totally out of the question, it would take quite the collapse from Barca. That being said, the Champions League represents a clear opportunity to win silverware this term, and they were utterly dominant in the Round of 16, smashing City 5-1 on aggregate. However, Bayern is arguably the strongest side in Europe right now, and anything less than their best won’t be enough to beat the Bundesliga standouts.

Vincent Kompany is truly doing a phenomenal job with Bayern, and it shows in every single facet. The club was 7-0-1 in the group stages of the UCL before scoring 10 against Serie A outfit Atalanta. They’ve also compiled an astounding 23-4-1 record in the Bundesliga, sitting comfortably nine points clear at the top of the table. The Bavarians have averaged 3.1 goals per match in Europe, which ranks first in the competition.

Harry Kane has scored eight in as many appearances in the Champions League, while Michael Olise has also been brilliant, assisting five and also netting three goals. Serge Gnabry, Luis Diaz, and Nicolas Jackson have all done their part in the final third, too. Bayern is enjoying a 13-game unbeaten run across all competitions, and they just snatched three points in a 3-2 victory against Freiburg on Saturday thanks to a goal at the death.

Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich Injury News

Real Madrid are dealing with a few key absences heading into this clash, with Thibaut Courtois and Rodrygo both ruled out through injury. Ferland Mendy and Dani Ceballos are also doubtful and will need a late fitness test.

Bayern Munich also have several injury concerns, as Sven Ulreich, Cassiano Kiala, David Santos, and Wisdom Mike are all sidelined. Kane is a major doubt to start this fixture, which could see Jackson lead the line.

Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich Picks

Madrid is in for quite the test here, but they boast a very solid record on home soil in the Champions League, only tasting defeat once this campaign. I’ll back the hosts to win the opening leg by one goal – just like their last meeting with Bayern.
