The Cleveland Cavaliers were able to knot this Eastern Conference semifinal series up at 2-2 after back-to-back superstar performances from their superstar backcourt.

Meanwhile, Detroit’s MVP candidate, Cade Cunningham, has been struggling with his shot after scoring like a mad man through the first nine games of this Detroit Pistons playoff run. Game 5 is on the horizon on Wednesday night at Little Caesars Arena in Motown, and whoever wins this one has about an 80 percent chance of winning the series.

So which players will step up for their team in Game 5? And will this game be a high-scoring affair like we saw in Cleveland, or a defensive battle like we saw in Detroit? Read on for our best bets as well as the best NBA betting odds in Canada!

Highlights

  • Donovan Mitchell has scored 30+ points in 3 straight games
  • Evan Mobley has notched 7+ rebounds in 9 of 11 playoff games this season
  • Games 3 and 4 both went over this game’s 212.5-point total comfortably

Cavaliers vs. Pistons Game 5 - Player Prop Best Bets

Donovan Mitchell was quietly building himself back up after an extended cold front during the end of the Cavs’ Round 1 win and the start of this second round series. But he exploded in the second half of Game 4 on Monday. He scored an NBA playoff-record 39 points in the second half of that game, keying a 38-21 third quarter for the Cavs that put them on track for the win.

He hasn’t been setting the world on fire, but he’s shot 44 percent or better from the field in 8 of Cleveland’s 11 playoff games so far. And he seems to be really rolling now. He’s now on three straight games with 30+ points and 46 percent from the field. We don’t usually go for plus odds, but this feels like a make or break moment in Spida’s career and legacy. He will come to play.

While Jarrett Allen has been a box of chocolates, his fellow twin tower Evan Mobley has been pretty solid as well. At least on the boards. He’s nabbed 7+ rebounds in nine of his 11 playoff games during this run, including in seven of his last eight. Mobley averaged 9.0 rebounds per game during the regular season, and he hit the 7-board mark in 24 of his last 31 regular season games.

Best Bet

  • Donovan Mitchell To Score 30+ Points (+140)
  • Evan Mobley To Record 7+ Rebounds (-200)

Cavaliers vs. Pistons Game 5 Over/Under Prediction

This seemed like it would be a 90s style low-scoring series during our previous visit to Detroit. But in Cleveland, both teams scored 100+ both times and the total went significantly over this one’s 212.5 total in each of those. In fact, this is the third straight game in this series to feature a total of 212.5 points. We think it will push to lucky number four here.

Best Bet: Game Total Points Over 212.5 (-110)
